After the successful integration of hellofood, kaymu, jumia, lamudi and carmudi into the Ghanaian Tech startup scene, Rocket Internet has launched yet another of its startups in Ghana. Jovago, the Nigerian hotel booking website has finally launched its services in Ghana.
Jovago offers users in Ghana access to over 2,000 hotels and accommodation services in Ghana, with priority bookings and great discounts. Jovago prides itself with their ability to physically access each establishment on their platform to ensure that patrons of their services know what they are getting before they make a booking. The country manager for Jovago Ghana Claire Staal in her address expressed the company’s optimism of their prospects in the Ghanaian market and touted some of the milestone chalked by their sister companies. Claire Staal comes on board with a ton of experience, working with startups in Africa, having worked with the Rocket Internet group in Nigeria for a couple of years.
Amongst the patrons at the launch event was the deputy minister of Tourism, Madam Dzifa Gomashie, who encouraged Ghanaian hoteliers to patronize the services of Jovago as a way of promoting Ghana’s tourism and attracting more tourist to Ghana. Some of the key highlights of the launch include the outdoor of musician Gasmilla as the brand ambassador for Jovago with his hit song Telemo.
