After one of its startups, Dropifi joined the 500 Startups program in 2013, the MEST Incubator has birthed another 500 Startups entrant, Kudobuzz. It’s no chance that such great international opportunities keep coming the way of the MEST Community.
Kudobuzz, formerly Nevahold, helps companies get authentic reviews, which are sourced from social media networks, and their websites. Over the past few years, the team has proved to be one of the most profitable companies in the MEST Incubator. At one time, their Shopify app saw a 20-review streak of 5 stars. As at the time of this writing, the company has 125 all 5-star reviews on Shopify!
After doubling revenue in the 3rd quarter of 2014 and recording over 25% month-on-month user-growth, there’s very little reason to be surprised about the teams’ admission into the 500 Startup program for this year. I’ve had the opportunity to work with the team before, and this comes as very little surprise.
MEST Incubator has consistently proven to be a thriving environment for startups which graduate from the MEST Training Program. With 2 acquisitions, 2 admissions to 500 startups, 2 Seedstars World appearances and numerous DEMO Africa features, MEST is nothing less than the new cool.
Here’s the link to the official announcement, and the list of startups in the 14th batch.
A great kudos to the Kena and the Kudobuzz team, the MEST Incubator team and the MEST Training Program itself. We look forward to more of such stories which will increase the appeal for African tech startups.
