The Ghana launch comes several weeks after the company raised a funding round of $133 million, which will also help them in their partnership strategies in securing local content.

iFlix launched with its international flat rate of $2.5 (GHS10.75) per user per month, and hopes to reach 50,000 users in Ghana by end of year. The service is now available to over one billion consumers across 22 territories throughout Asia, the Middle East and Africa. In its effort to promote local content, the video-streaming service will partner with even more producers and content creators.

With many international companies launching in Ghana recently, it’s quite easy to notice the growth of tech-savvy consumers, and a market which is ready to be exploited. With such a low price point, it will be interesting to see how Ghanaians sign up and consume content from iFlix.
