In 2018, Complete Farmer launched their web farming platform, which enabled users all over the world to farm a total of 200 acres of chili pepper, ginger, and cassava crops. By the end of the year, the company had won the best startup award by Demo Africa as well as taken the stage at TechCrunch’s Startup Battlefield Africa. One of the keys to this team’s success in 2018 was strong resolutions backed by a solid execution plan, which is why they are kicking off 2019 by announcing their new resolutions!

Complete Farmer’s achievements last year have formed the foundation for what it  has planned for this year. The company is excited to announce it’s resolutions for 2019 which are geared towards doubling its impact in the African agriculture industry as well as delivering a higher level of satisfaction, with upcoming features, to users.

On the announcement, Complete Farmer CEO Desmond Koney said, “This year is going to be a big year for the company. We are redefining farming and are projecting to reach 90 percent yield expectation with the new technologies we are introducing. We are working hard to make farming a fun and rewarding lifestyle.”

Complete Farmer’s resolutions for 2019 are:

  1. Grow 2000 acres: A major target for the company in 2019 is to increase its contribution towards an increased food production by farming 2000 acres, 1800 acres more than last year.
  2. Grow 7 crops for the export market:  Complete Farmer aims to contribute towards Africa’s foreign exchange by growing 7 crops for the export market in 2019.
  3. Irrigate 80% of company farm lands: Last year, only 20% of Complete Farmer’s farm lands were irrigated. With plans to irrigate an additional 60% already in place, the company is expecting to be able to supply fresh farm produce to industries all year round as well as optimize the use of farmland this year.
  4. Expand crowd farming service to a global audience: A big one on the company’s resolution list is the extension of its crowd farming service to a global audience.  This is aimed at giving more people the opportunity to own and participate in building highly efficient, sustainable farms with the use of modern technology which will result in more sustainable farms, more food, more jobs and an increased rate of technology adaptation on African farms. Users can own a rewarding farm business in Africa whether they are from Tokyo or New York.
  5. Expand operations to Cote d’ivoire: Complete Farmer will be expanding its operations to Cote d’ivoire by the fourth quarter of the year. This expansion is to enable the company grow crops that thrive in specific regions of Africa. As the crops menu increases, Complete Farmer will also increase its database on proprietary crop cultivation protocols by gathering more data through the extension of its field sensory networks for specific crop species. This move will start with some pilot projects in Cote D’Ivoire to gain good understanding of farming conditions in the country. Complete Farmer is exploring other countries south and east of Africa to expand its operations across the continent.
  6. Launch a mobile application: Complete Farmer is currently working on a mobile application which is expected to further simplify the farming experience for users by putting the “farms in their pockets”. The mobile app will have a host of interesting features among which includes a chatbot for faster customer service and social media integration which will enable users share photos and videos of their farms from the app to their friends on various social media platforms. Complete Farmer plans to explore building more user engaging features to  bring the farming experience right at the finger tips of users. There is an unlimited extent the company can go with this as it reserves feature news from Competitors.
